LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Ayed Munawar Hassan Monday appealed to observe Black Day on May 13.In a statement issued from Mansoora here, Munawar Hassan called on Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to hold judicial inquiry into the violent incidents of May 12 so that the affected families could get justice without any further delay.
“May 12, 2007 is the darkest day in the country’s history, he said, adding that so far no legal or judicial actions have been taken in this connection.”
Hassan regretted that no step was taken despite the fact that footages and record of the May 12 incidents were available.
He announced that his party would stage peaceful demonstrations across the country on the Black Day.
